The Block’s Courtney and Sev have continued taking hits after they were accused of breaking the rules with their ‘artwork loophole‘.

On Monday’s episode, the best friends from Brisbane were again forced to defend themselves against ‘cheating’ allegations before facing an even bigger issue – they’re running out of money.

The pair were quoted $45,000 for their front yard makeover by landscaper Troy Lovett, but they only have $25,000 left in the bank.

Without winning another cash prize, Courtney and Sev are facing disqualification, Troy warned.

‘I’m still here but don’t know for how much longer to be honest,’ Troy said.

Without a cash injection, the team are ‘packing up and going home’, the landscaper insisted.

Courtney admitted she fears that their ‘whole budget situation is going into meltdown’.

The pair were left with no choice but to rip up their front yard design in a desperate attempt to avoid disqualification – but they directed their anger at Troy, insisting that he should have warned them that there would be surprise costs.

‘He’s not willing to help with solutions and that is quite crippling for both of us,’ Sev said, before calling him an ‘a***hole’.

Elsewhere in the episode, Courtney and Sev again came under fire over their ‘artwork loophole’.

Courtney and Sev ordered a ‘custom artisan wine cellar rack’, for which they paid just $14,500, while similar structures can cost as much as $100,000.

The other Blockheads were angered when they learned that the cellar was worth much more than the pair coughed up, but could be priced cheaply because it was deemed to be ‘artwork’.

Anything classed as art is priced at the vendor’s discretion, meaning that the cost can vary wildly.

‘There is no retail price for it; it’s up to the artist to price it how they see fit,’ Sev explained.

The issue reared its head on Monday, with Jolene and Lisa again insisting the besties broke the rules.

When Lisa raised the topic once more, Sev cut her off and slammed her hand on the table in anger.

‘We followed the right steps, the right protocols. Don’t be a poor loser just because you paid more for something. That’s on you,’ Sev snapped.

‘It’s not our fault. You can’t be mad at us for what he’s charging us, it’s not our problem.’

While the women eventually buried the hatchet, Courtney and Sev later said that Jolene’s accusations were souring their experience on the show.

‘I can’t with her. She’s so nasty,’ Courtney said.

Sev added: ‘Jolene’s reaction is harsh, and it’s really taking away from this moment.’
